“Starting with just a thread and an idea, Belgium based designer Kim Stumpf (34) spins a world of her own. Her sculpted, textured knitwear is utterly personal, adhering to no fashion movement in particular. Instead, Stumpf lets the material lead the way. Her process results in knitted shawls, dresses, stolas and coats that are delicate and wildly romantic, but also structured, which makes them difficult to categorise.”

After first attending sculpture, painting, and fashion at the famed Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, she graduated at La Cambre in Brussels.
After her graduation in 2007, she built up experience at Haider Ackermann, Vivienne Westwood and Robert Clergerie.
The KIMSTUMPF label combines architectural forms with a second skin feeling and stands for a unique design with a pure line and a timeless attitude. The designs are made in Belgium with high quality materials.
Having a natural affinity with textiles, she mix-matches merino wool with innovative techniques, such as screen printing, laminating, laser cut, shrinking. The “wool love” started preparing her installation at the Pitti Filati exhibition in Florence, for which she was selected.
Running her own Flagshipstore makes her research and experiment even more intense.
